1. In case of foreign currency payment, u can always walk to airline's kiosk in nearest airport and make a payment using any CC in USD.

While entering the USA in Aug 2007 the Immigration office gave me I-94 validity till June 2008 which is equal to my H1-B Visa Stamp validity in passport, I had my new I-797 H1-B document from new employer with valid I-94 at the bottom till Sep 2009.
Will the I-94 validity given by immigration officer over rules the I-797 I-94 validity. If so, can i apply for the extension. Or shall i go out of the country and while entering ask the immigration officer to give validity based on my new I-797.

I had the same issue. I did not pay attention what I-94 expiration date was stamped by the officer in JFK airport. I had my visa expired earlier than my approved H1B status.
I was able to fix it couple weeks later at home in Tampa Airport with US Customs and Border Protection. Make sure that you make appointment with them before you go to your nearest international airport. They will take you to secured area where they do all immigration paperwork. I want to address this to everyone. Any organization needs a clear and precise Vision statement. Majority of the senior member complain that the people with green card and citizenship do not support immigration voice; then the question becomes what is our vision. If we confine ourselves to the benefit that we all should get green card, then what is the need for someone who has already got a green card to visit this web site. Humans are need based animals, whether you like it or not tomorrow if I get my Green Card (A big IF) it is very much likely that my visit to this website will be minimized. My priorities will be different. So core group should get a better vision statement which might address all immigrants.
The reason I came to immigration voice is slightly different, because I am still not convinced enough to accept that core group could do something which will make our law makers’ act different. I support immigration voice on a bigger picture, it unites all immigrants together, and the website provides me support to all my immigration need. For example, I can search the website and find information regarding visa stamping, H1 quota and what my fellow countrymen think about it. So my sincere advice to the core group is to create a vision statement which is much bigger than the green card issue and which will make sure all immigrant no matter with green card or not will visit our website. Make the vision statement visible in the website. You have much better exposure through this. I have to agree, I am writing this out of frustration :D , but to be honest, do not treat this website for green card retrogression alone, treat it as something bigger, which will address all immigrant needs.

How is the market? I want to share my history and see if the situation is the same in other places.
I work in a small financial company in NJ since 2003 in IT. They are sponsoring my gc now. It's a growing company.
At that time it was my boss, me (programmer) and an american girl (crystal reports). She left and we replace with an indian guy green card holder. Later he left and we hire 2 crystal reports developers, an indian and a russian both green card holders. Later we decided to hire another developer. Join us a hong kong born citizen. I think he is naturalized now. Anyway. Later we hired another programmer, come an indian gc holder. She left and we hired another indian programmer (i think she's in h1)
Today we are trying to hire another programmer and so far, 1 month, no one show up.
I don't know if this situation is happening in other places, but from our experience since 2003.
- there are not many americans interested in IT ?!?
- the unemployment is not affecting IT so much ?!? No one is showing up to fulfill our position now and in the previous years.
- due to visa backlogs and restrictions, it's impratical to sponsor h1 or gc.
My opinion, this a good example that immigration not so bad for US. With good immigration we would had filed our position and not took an american job.
Again, anyone seeing the same in other places...

Dear All ,
I recently got my I-140 approved, got our(me and spouse) EAD and AP too.Now what I am wondering is that
1.Am I still on H1 status or the status now becomes EAD ?
2. If my H1 still holds good then should I go back to India to get my fresh H1 stamping as it will expire november next year or should I go for one year H1 extensions(as I heard from friends ) till I get the GC ?
3. Is there any stipulated time limit within which my wife has to apply for her SSN( we have not yet applied for it. )
4. My passport is going to expire on December next year. Do I need to go to India for renewal or it can be done from here itself. If it can be done from here itself then when is the earliest to start that process ?( I will be happy if u could send some links that will guide me ).

Another example of how inefficient USCIS is. I have applied my EAD in Aug 28th, did the FP in Sept 22, case still pending. I sent to Texas Service center.

It would be great if our core members get in touch with the executive editors of Information week (All contact information listed in informationweek.com) and send a document representing our issues. There is a good chance that it gets printed.
Information week magazine has a nationwide audience including CEO's who can push our case for lobbying. They have printed various articles in the past about HIB and Greencard issues.

Also please become more active and urge you friends and colleagues to become more active in NJ state chapter.
Any suggestion on promoting our cause will be greatly appreciated:

I had sent my 485 app to Nebraska. However, the receipt number starts with WAC.
Should I send the EAD renewal to NSC or CSC??

RN starting from WAC. But I filled EAD in NSC. Also have RN for EAD. It does not matter. You have to file EAD based on state you live. Because of July fiasco they had sent 485 cases everywhere so those RNs are from all over.
But for EAD it does not matter where 485 was filed only thing that matters in where you live.

Many a times employer create a position that requires just Bachelor's degree, BUT a Bachelor's person can't really do that job. Eventually a Master's person (or B.S. + 5 yr experience) fills that up, not knowing that he will be shoved in EB3.
Is it the employer's responsibility to consider in which Green Card Category the employee will fall in future before puts ad.?
Bachelor degree would be enough to do the job if EB3 has a PD around 2005/2006/Current.

yes! Include the copy of your 485 receipt inthe appplication.
EAD and AP are simple enough that you can apply/renew on your own without paying a lawyer.

One of the clients is not considering EAD as a valid document to enter their facilities. Funny thing is their security team are ok if you have valid visa and I94 but not EAD.
I think this is more of ignorance about EAD.
Can some provide doucumentation which says discrimination of EAD is violation of Law? or some thing that says EAD is a valid document to work adn stay in the country.
