why does macrumors link to the appshopper description of the app instead of the actual apple link?
Seems like a useless middle step
The practice was started when straight itunes linking was awkward, as iTunes had to be installed, and people browsing from work would get dead-ended into an "Install iTunes please". It's perhaps less useful these days since Apple now does offer a web preview without itunes installed, so it may be just as easy to link using normal links again.

To me, it would be good news that Apple supports both HD-DVD and BD.
well no, i think that's a bad idea. software has to be pressed on both formats - expensive - prices will increase (not only in the software branch - two holy expensive drives in one mac?)
we need one standard. every format needs a standard.

Not sure about the AP Express (it's not on Apple's printed "Joy to the Wallet" sale list) ... Here it is again:
"Joy to the Wallet" sale only on black friday '06:
iMac: $898-$1958
MacBook: $998-$1398
.Mac: $68
iPod Nano (except Reds): $138-$228
iPod: $228-$318
Wireless Mighty Mouse: $58
Shure earphones: $78-$238
Contour iPod Cases: $14-$24
Belkin TuneBase FM: $58
JBL On Stage Micro: $78
JBL Spot Speakers: $108
LaCie Hard Drives: $148-$888
Incase Sling Pack: $48
Xtreme Mac Micro Memo Voice Recorder: $48
Sonic Impact Video-55 Display: $238
Nike+iPod Sport Kit: $24
The "red" iPod nanos and the new ipod shuffle remain at the same prices...
Well, then you add tax and you would be better of buying online at free-shipping, no-tax options. Applestores are nice, to look at stuff, but no good for anything else (especially lousy are the 'so-called' genius bars).
Just my 2c, t.

Besides I don't think there is anything AMD can offer Apple right now. The Core archiecture has proven to be faster than the Athlon Opteron one...

Well I guess what I am saying is that the graphics card really doesn't have the muscle that, say, four processor cores do. You should see what my activity monitor does when I crush some havy stuff - it might use two cores if I am lucky.
And what I'm saying is that once you step down from a $4000 machine you see a much larger power ratio in the graphics card/processor image crunching.
Take my set up, I'm betting that using my graphics card benafits me greatly.
In your case though it would be awesome to hand more of that off to the extra procs.

So gizmodo is responsible for this how? Questioning what makes an online a journalist a journalist and not just a fan site has been going on for some time (aka: before gizmodo turned off a bunch of TVs). You're just scapegoating an easy target. If you have a problem with the conferences and expos limiting press to only a few big names go after that. Not after guys who like to prank people. You'll change nothing by attacking gizmodo.

I don't give a damn. If I pay for a chunk of data, it isn't up to the provider to dictate how I use my data. If I want to syphon fuel out of my vehicle for use in another, that is my decision not Exxon's.
Wrong.
So much emotional reasoning that leave out facts.
Your data is meant for use by your iphone. Your T&C prohibits tethering. So you cannot use your data for tethering in ANY form.
Those that use the analogy of their home internet connection not restricting use...well...that's just it... your T&C there does not restrict devices and use. Not the same thing. As for you gas analogy, again not the same thing. You have no contract with Exxon on how you use your gas. If Exxon made a contract with you to use the gas only in the car that purchased it..it would be the same. You could then decide to buy it or find another source (carrier).
To sum it up. You are tethering only by virtue of the fact that you have jailbroken your phone...and you want the carriers to agree that this is a normal usage of the phone and therefore that tethering is ok?
Are you serious?
You are free to do what you want but dont fault the carrier when then finally catch up to you and force you to stop or pay.
There is just no other way to view this...

Maybe Apple could make that an Easter Egg. Those were the days, when Easter Eggs were common. Fun times.
Rocketman
And bunnies. Easter eggs and bunnies...sigh.
It's funny how people give Apple a hard time for spinning this information, when we all know the media was doing their own spin. If the media truly wanted the truth, they'd have conducted some research and have been able to really give us a good percent on how many people experience problems when using the iPhone 4 (I know, every phone has the "defect"...blah, blah, blah, blah). However, the real percent wouldn't make a good story. So, how can you blame Apple for at least trying to defend itself?

My son, then two, was pulled aside by "random" secondary screening in 2005 at Ontario airport in SoCal. I wasn't too upset, because nothing inappropriate (other than the absurdity of checking a two-year-old) was done, but was struck by the waste of time. And lest anyone think we were profiled, we are both obviously white, with English-sounding names, traveling on round-trip tickets.

hmm I might consider to give it a try afterall...
when it came out my G5 was rejected (only because of the stock graphics card) there was a testing app to see if you could run it before you buy the actual program... and since a new card would set me back some extra and aperture was at that time at the high price... I passed... now it supports my system, so maybe I'll ge it (first I'll do a testrun at my local shop where I buy my camera's... they told me not to buy V1... and said the latest was very much improved, and now there is another new version ;-))

That's the great thing about a platform like the Volt, or anything like it: you can easily change whatever gives the electricity. Gas not working right? The American public finally getting their asses out of their collective heads about diesel? Just get one the right size, and hook it up to the generator. It works for trains. Small fusion reactors finally a possibility? Bingo!
If GM hadn't ****ed up when they tried bringing diesel cars to the market, it wouldn't be anywhere near as bad. We still have some old M-B diesels kicking around, and probably a good bunch of them run on SVO by now.
Subaru still sells FWD cars, just not in the US or Europe.
Why did you burst my bubble of Subarus awesomeness? :(
Don't forget the dealership markup. Some of the automotive blogs have people complaining that the dealerships are adding a $10k markup to the already expensive vehicle.

Now I feel really old with all this OS X ten celebrations! Doesn't help that I started with System 6.....
System 7 version for me and my FIRST EVER computer, a Performa 6200CD my friend and I purchased on August 15, 1995 as we were the only two "Thinking Different" in our local CompUSA store at midnight amongst all the exuberant Windows people getting their Windows 95 OS... Then 8.6 with my PowerMac Blue and White G3 tower, then OS X Tiger 10.4 with my FIRST INTEL CHIP IN A MAC EVER, 24" White iMac, and then with my MacBook Air, FIRST LAPTOP EVER, the second gen, with OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard, and iOS 3.2 to 4.3 iPad first gen 3G 64 GB, and maybe iPhone 5, we'll see but definitely looking forward of the further demo of OS X 10.7 Lion... Ah the memories... Thanks again Apple and Happy Birthday, again, OS X. :apple:

1) Oslo the capital of norway is the city where the ipod/people ratio is highest in the WORLD.
2) They are stuffed with cash.
3) They are the most advansed tech people in the world, "everybody" has a computer and DSL. And many even know how to use them :P
4) They have been trendsetters on the intnernett for the past 3-6 years.
That is why Norway Sweden and Denmark has iTS
You are kidding right?

I agree with the idea that this would be an extra product to the line-up rather than a replacement leaving it
iPod Shuffle | iPod Nano | iPod | iPod Video
That's got to work for everybody. I was personally concerned when these stories first emerged (ages ago  ) that the iPod would be replaced as, in it's current incarnation, it's exactly what I want.
